TOLEDO -- The former business manager at?GESU Church in west Toledo has pleaded guilty to stealing more than a $500,000 from the parish over a three year peroid.
61-year-old Patricia Ann Stanz entered the plea in federal court Wednesday.? She will be sentenced January 14, 2013.
Stanz created and signed nearly 100 checks for about $295,000 and then cashed them from the parish account.
She also used a parish issued credit card to take out more than $130,000 in cash advances and purchased.
Stanz reportedly had a gambling problem and that led to the thefts.
